Kinds of Pain To Manage
The human body is very unique and very complex. It has muscles that cause the legs and arms to move. It has bones
that provide a solid structure to the body. What’s more is that it also have a huge system that monitors the
sensations that your body encounters. This system is very complex and very much needed to know just what is
happening. Although most of us do not think about it, each movement and touch that the body experiences is unique
and beautiful. Stop what you are doing right now and consider the sensations that your body is feeling right
now.
You may feel the mouse in your hand, the cool touch of the desk you are working at. You may feel the breeze blowing
against your hair, creating a shiver down your spine. You may feel the clothing on your body, moving with your body
and brushing your skin as it does so. These feelings are all in place because of the way that your body’s is set
up. Now, what does this have to do with pain?
The fact is the same nerves and sensory feelings that you feel for these things also are what transmit pain to your
brain. They pick up on the feeling you are having and convey it right back to the brain. The movement is instant
and the result is that you pull your hand away from the burning stove or you move out of the way of muscle spasm in
your leg.
There are several types of pain to think about too. Not all pain is the same and your body will work with you to
understand these differences too. There are several types the first being acute pain. Acute pain is pain that can
be easily stopped or can be easily be reversed through handling the damage that has caused it. Falling and skinning
your knee for example. The pain is gone once you have allowed the skin to heal. This type of pain can have various
degrees of intensity, depending on the actual situation that you are in.
Another type of pain is that which is called chronic pain or pain that is not easily handled. This type of pain
will remain as long as there is something wrong in the body even if the first cause of the pain is healed. For
example the pain that comes from cancer or neuro pain.
Understanding what type of pain you are experiencing is important as it will lead to the type of pain management
that you will need to take on.
